Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do with the results in the Aspect Finder+ report?

  • Optiseller’s Aspect Finder + will scan your eBay active listings and show you which one’s are missing from Required, Required Soon (remember this is the bare minimum based on the eBay mandates) Recommended and Additional, Item Specifics and add any of the values we find to a file for you to update your listings with. With Aspect Finders + new features (September 2021) will help you to optimise Item Specifics faster and more efficiently than ever before.

How do I know what action to take?

  • With Optiseller’s Aspect Finder + report you will see your listings broken down by category and within each category you will see your listings with Item Specifics broken down into Required, Required Soon, Recommended and Additional.

How can I prioritise which listings to action first?

  • Within Aspect Finder + when you click into a specific category to view what filters are most commonly used on our category Buyer Demand Data indicator. These are indications for the item specifics that buyers are using to search for products. The Buyer Demand star indicator gives a 1-5-star rating to reflect the amount of eBay customers searching and filtering using this Item Specific or aspect.

  • A 5-star rating means that the item specific is highly used by buyers to filter search results. The star indicator is based on previous buyer demand over a 30-day period.

  • This will help you focus where to prioritise your effort when it comes to optimising your eBay listing data through item specifics.

  • You can also explore Buyer Demand with Optisellers' Category Lookup tool. Which is available in all our packages.

How can I take action effectively and efficiently?

  • To help you effectively and efficiently update your Item Specifics Optiseller have recently added the following features to Aspect Finder+

  • Filter Builder

  • Bulk Updates

What is Filter Builder?

  • This feature will enable you to filter on a combination of data points in the listings view, which means it can show the exact products you want to edit This will save a lot of time and effort and will help all sellers.

Choose the category that you wish to focus on once you are in that category click on Filter Listings, which can be found on the right hand side as per the screenshot below.

Once clicked on Filter Listings you will see a drop down.

Here you can use the dropdown to filter by eBay Mandates, Out of Stock listings and Item Specifics.

What is Bulk Update?

Bulk update gives you a number of options.

Here we shall explore, Apply Suggested and Recommended.

Apply suggested and recommended

First choose one or more listings that you want to bulk update. This will then show the additional bulk update menu.

Once you have clicked on Apply suggested or recommended values you can Replace missing values with suggested values and or Replace seller created values with recommended values.

Either option can be filtered by Item Specifics

What is Find and Replace?

  • This feature will allow sellers to select one or more listings giving them access to an additional Bulk Update menu option. In the menu, you can now find and replace any blank values across all listings. For example, you may describe some of your listings as "Rouge", but eBay wants it to be "Red", you can use this new feature to update all and replace all descriptions of "Rouge" in just a few clicks.

Choose the listings you would like to bulk update as per the screenshot below.

Once you have chosen the listings you wish to bulk update you can then click on Find and Replace.

Here you can then filter by Item Specifics, then you can state the value you want to change and finally enter the value you want to change it to and click "OK".

  • Send Selected

This is not new to the tool but you will see it in the bulk update menu. This enables you to send your updates to eBay.
