Beta

This tool is currently in trial, and is invite only. If you are interested in accessing the tool, please reach out via our chat or email [email protected]

What is the tool?

The tool uses our new AI multichannel APIs to allow you to import products, optimise titles, descriptions and keywords (aka item specifics or keywords) for eBay and B&Q. We are actively working on other marketplaces.

This short video includes a brief overview of the tool

Getting Started

Login using your optiseller account at data.optiseller.com. If you do not have access, you can request it via our chat or email [email protected]

Projects

Firstly, you will need to create a "Project". Projects are like “folders” for organizing products into separate lists. For example, if you have multiple stores or channels you may create a project for each, or you can decide to split by Brand, or any other categories that suit your needs.

API Keys

Optiseller application keys can be used in the tool - to see how to access this see Getting Started with the Optiseller API | Optiseller Help Centre

To add the keys to the tool, select “Api Keys” from the menu, enter the key and ensure it is set to active. Add a relevant name to the details (will be provided with they key if requested as additional)

Depending on your subscription, your api key will have different limits - as per https://www.optiseller.com/pricing/

If you need more api calls or keys - contact us!

Products

Products are individual SKUs (including variants) and are organized under projects. SKUs must be unique.

Products can be filtered, imported and exported from the Home page.

Creating Products

Its important to select the target Marketplace & Region for the product - e.g. eBay / UK

  • eBay is supported for all main regions

  • BandQ is supported for UK

  • more are coming - contact us with any requests!

The tool requires the Category Code for the marketplace category to allow optimization (suggestions coming soon) but in the meantime you can use our Category suggester tool if you do not already have the category id.

SKU must be unique across all projects - avoid using / or + (for now)

If you have existing attributes, add them as it will help with optimization.

Important: If you have a description or any other unstructured product information, put it in the description. Even if it is not structured, just a list of product codes or features this will be really useful for optimization

Add at least a main image - this will help with optimization. Images are hosted externally for now.

Importing products in bulk

Products can be imported to a project via the “import” function. Sample files can be downloaded from the import screen

Manually map the source file to the required format and import.

Sample product data file: SampleData_eBay_GB.csv

Optimizing your products

Once you have some products and an API key setup, you are ready to optimise!

This can be done at an individual SKU level, or in bulk. We recommend that this is done individually for a few skus to assess the results and if all looking good, then run in bulk.

Individual Optimization

Optimizing products can be done individually by opening the product and clicking the “Optimize Product” button:

The optimization algorithm will currently consider the following data

  • Title

  • Description

  • Attributes

  • First Image

If attributes are not structured, or there is additional data that will be useful for the algorithm, append it to the description.

Bulk optimization

The bulk page allows a batch of products to be optimized. Only products that have not been optimized already will be processed. Marketplace and Region must be selected, and the number of products to process should be specified. For now, keep this below 500.

When a batch is running, feedback / progress will be displayed

Export

Use the export function to export the data to files

  • Export Type - CSV, Excel or XML for now. XML is MIP XML.

  • Marketplace, Region, Category ID will filter the products exported (and appear in the filename)

  • Advanced filters allow you to filter by

    • items updated since / to

    • All latest items or As of (point in time version)

    • Compare with version (enter a version number, e.g. 1 to highlight in the file where the differences are - only works for excel)

Feedback

We'd love to hear about any ideas, suggestions or problems you have related to the tool to help us make it better - please leave any feedback here https://forms.office.com/e/AbhbvFjfBJ
